After a disappointing couple of days in Nha Trang the ‘Sons of Vietnam’ were looking forward to heading to the beach to enjoy what looked to be better weather so it was off to Mui Ne; well for everyone except my Canadian friend Ben and Norwegian friend Jostein. We had decided that we could not miss doing the mountain town of Dalat, which was a key destination if you watched the Top Gear episode that inspired this epic journey. So after saying goodbye to Alice and the rest of the ‘Sons of Vietnam’ for a couple of days, we set off on what would be an epic ride into the mountains.

Not only were the roads incredibly fun to drive but they were quite beautiful.

Not only were the roads incredibly fun to drive but they were quite beautiful.

As we left Nha Trang, we had clocked well over 1000 kilometers so far and seen some pretty impressive roads, but the road to Dalat would top it all. Its hard to describe the ride other than epic winding roads into the mountains for tens of kilometers. To makes things even better we had the roads pretty much to ourselves which was a nice change to the constant chaos throughout the rest of Vietnam. It was a pretty surreal experience and even better to be able to share it with my close friend Ben who was there on the couch watching the Top Gear Vietnam special a few years prior. Dalat was a very beautiful city and a great place to rest after a long but incredible ride up the mountain. The next day was just as amazing, if not even more so as you cruised down the otherside of the mountain pass.Vietnam-94
